Judo Club 2012 was established in February 2012. The opening ceremony of the club was attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev. The main purpose of establishing the club is to serve the development and popularization of judo in our country, as well as to bring together veteran athletes. The founder of the club is Azer Asgarov, chairman of the Judo Club 2012 Public Union, member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, multiple winner and prize-winner of world and European championships among veteran masters of judo. During the year, the club's athletes won a total of 158 medals in judo, karate, sambo and jiu-jitsu, including 55 gold, 42 silver and 61 bronze.
